Bio: 
MICHELE STEINBERG is the Wildfire Division Director at the global nonprofit National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®) based in Quincy, Massachusetts. NFPA’s wildfire-related projects cover a broad spectrum of safety education, advocacy, and professional training in the US and abroad. Michele has 30 years of experience in natural hazard mitigation, land use planning, and disaster safety outreach. She serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Wildland Fire, is a co-founder of the Hazard Mitigation and Disaster Recovery Membership Division of the American Planning Association, and is a long-term member and former officer of the Association of State Floodplain Managers. She holds a Master of Urban Affairs degree from Boston University, and has served as an adjunct professor of emergency management at Trine University, Angola, Indiana, and as a guest lecturer at the University of North Carolina, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
