End-user evaluation on PHAROS products and Services (D7.3)

Por Núria Prat el

This deliverable describes and analyses the  feedback gathered during  the PHAROS pilot demonstration PHASE 1. This deliverable is part of WP7 –Pilot demonstration and user evaluation, and more specifically is part of Task 7.3–Evaluation of end users, conclusions and recommendations.

The user evaluation has been carried out during the pilot demonstration developed within Task 7.2 –PHAROS pilot. During the demonstration, a group of stakeholders has been selected to participate as end-users with the objective of evaluating the PHAROS platform. The main goal of the demonstration, which took place in Solsona, Spain, March 2–4, 2016 (PHASE 1) andOberpfaffenhofen, Germany May 12, 2016 (PHASE 2), was to get an evaluation of the utility, usability and performance of the platform from an end-user point of view, in order to be ble to derive recommendations for the next steps. Therefore, a feedback form for the end-users was carefully prepared to achieve this goal, as reported in Annex A.

The content of this deliverable is structuredfollowing Task 7.3 objectives as defined in the Description of Work. These objectives were defined in order to have a general as well as exhaustive evaluation of the products and services of the PHAROS platform, and can be broken down as follows:

•Identification of the stakeholders to perform the user evaluation,

•Definition and preparation of user-evaluation forms,

•Analysis of the results of the end-user evaluation gathered during the pilot demonstration PHASE1 (Task 7.2),

•Distribution of the derived recommendations among the concerned WPs.

The feedback gathered during the pilot demonstration (PHASE 1) revealed how the end-users held a very positive opinion of the platform and the different components that they were able to test during the demo. The feedback is reported in this deliverable according to the components evaluated by the users: system graphical user interface (GUI), simulator module, decision support services (DSS) module and alerting module. For each of the components, recommendations and suggestions to improve the platform from an end-user point of view are derived in Section 4. The output of such process documented in the present deliverable has been set to outline possible future developments of the system, to allow the end user having a better hands-on experience, and contribute to the overall improvement of the PHAROS platform.
